Financial Controller

Reporting to the CEO, the Financial Controller will manage a small team, and play a hands on role in the monthly accounting process. Part of the Senior Leadership Teams this has the chance to evolve into an FD position in time.

Client Details

My client are a long established and successful manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Maidstone in Kent. As a manufacturing business with a family feel, they are looking for somebody to be a fully embedded part of their senior leadership team, and this will mean that the role is based 5 days per week on site.

Turnover is approaching £15M, and the business has key commercial relationships with a wide range of brand name clients.

Description

As Financial Controller you will be a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, but will need to take a hands on role in the production of the accounts.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Reporting to the CEO and Group Finance Director, you will have complete responsibility for the finance function locally.
• Production of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Management and development of the Accountancy and Information Technology systems (including payroll)
• Ensuring compliance with group processes and procedures
• Cost accounting, and business partnering with the operational and sales teams to maximise profitability
• Reporting financial results at monthly meetings, including variance analysis, and solution proposals.
• Capex and investment decisions
• Managing insurance and audit requirements
• Calculation of profitability by product, customer, production line etc
• Development and monitoring operational KPIs
• Waste reporting

Profile

The successful candidate for this financial controller position will

- Be formally qualified (CIMA, ACA or potentially ACA with relevant industry eperience)

- Be able to form part of a senior leadership team, adding value and challenging assumptions

- Have a strong background in product manufacturing, understanding machine run rates, production capacity, operational KPIs etc

This role is 100% office based, so you must be happy and willing to undertake the role on that basis.

Those that are qualified by experience but with significant hands on and relevant Financial Controller / Head of Finance experience gained within a similar manufacturing business may also be considered.

Job Offer

The Financial Controller will enjoy a package which includes:

• Base salary of circa £55-65,000 depending on skills and experience
• PEnsion (5% employer contribution)
• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
