Our ideal candidate will be an expert in US GAAP and IFRS standards, you will be tasked with both operational accounting and reporting, including detailed analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of all general ledger accounts.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Being responsible for a complete cycle accounting function for the CEX.IO group of companies
- Ensure accounting regulatory reports in Gibraltar, USA, and Lithuania locations, provide tax planning, and tax consultation (with the help of external consulting providers)
- Take ownership of external accounting audit process within Gibraltar, USA, Lithuania, and UK locations
- Identify, investigate, and analyze potential operational improvement. As appropriate, based on findings make proposals for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, controls, etc.);
- Establish, document, and maintain adequate and effective accounting controls and policies to improve the monthly close and to ensure timely and accurate reporting, especially when dealing with crypto transactions
- Implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize the risk of misstatements, malfeasance, and fraud
- Oversee the production of monthly financial statements and financial reports for management, and can explain the business reasons over the financial results
- Partners cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, HR, Legal, and other department leaders
- Manage a team of 7 accountants (a distributed team responsible for different jurisdictions);
- To compare actual results to budgeted results and provide variance explanations on a monthly basis.
- Act as the primary liaison with our external tax consultants and auditors and manage these relationships to maintain compliance and ensure due diligence readiness
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years experience, bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a similar discipline
- Proven track record of Accounting for companies incorporated in a holding structure
- Prior Experience in owning audit process and proven experience in cooperating with external auditors (global BIG4 auditors for Financial statement audits)
- Good knowledge of financial control;
- Deep understanding of accounting standards and regulations in the US, Gibraltar, UK, and Europe, US GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations
Nice to have:
- Experience using accounting tools such as Microsoft Navision
- ACCA, CIPA, and CIMA certification
- On-hand experience with industry-specific accounting in Fintech
