Management accountant

My client based in Purfleet are looking for a Management Accountant to join their evolving retail company. As a Management Accountant, you will be pioneering a significant change to the way the finance function will operate in the UK. It will require a strong candidate with sufficient accounting knowledge and appropriate qualifications.

Description

As Management Accountant your role will include:

• Contribute to the budgeting process of the subsidiary and guarantee support/monitoring to the corporate functions assigned
• Provide the required periodic and ad-hoc reports for the benefit of the corporate functions
• Manage the processes related to the financial year end, allowing the preparation of the income statements for the Group and for each area of responsibility
• Present analyses on the deviations between final statement and budget for each area with variance analysis and commentary
• Manage the process of accounts payable and oversee accounts receivable activities (general ledger coding) in order to ensure the complete and accurate record of all money flows
• Ensure accountancy transactions (book keeping) are properly and timely recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.
• Manage registration of accounting documents (e.g. reconcile invoices with the respective purchase orders).
• Manage the sales taxes payment by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
• Company treasury management (payments management, bank reconciliation).
• Manage coordination and communication of the Function with all other internal departments.
• Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, including salary disbursement, hiring/terminations/leaves management and the reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate time frames.
• Prepare complex payroll and human resource information and guarantee checking, quality control and maintenance of records.
• Provide advisory service on payroll matters, resolve difficult enquiries and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective actions where required

Profile

The ideal Management Accountant profile requires:

• 3+ years of management accounting experience.
• ACCA/CIMA studier
• Advanced excels skills
• JD Edwards preferable.
• Full year end exposure
