EY Rapid Innovation

As a Multinational Member Firm in the EY network, Rapid Innovation, based in Pakistan, exclusively provides its services to MENA based EY Member Firms across the MENA region, excluding Pakistan. The work is executed remotely by working virtually with our MENA onshore teams and sometime may require travel to MENA EY offices.

The opportunity

This opportunity is within Consulting Service Line, which is focused on the following areas:

Your key responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for working directly with clients. In the insurance consulting space, you would play a critical role in performing an internal audit, bringing expertise and experience to support clients in achieving their objectives, identifying potential risks, and improving their internal controls and operations. The key responsibilities would include:

  • Planning: Responsible for developing the audit plan, including identifying the objectives and developing the audit program.
  • Execution: Leads the execution of the audit plan, including conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, and testing controls.
  • Data Analysis: Responsible for analyzing data to identify potential issues, trends, or anomalies and to support audit findings. Also, responsible for analyzing large data sets, using statistical and analytical tools to derive insights and develop recommendations.
  • Communication: Communicates the audit findings and recommendations to the client’s management team, highlighting any deficiencies or areas of improvement.
  • Report Writing: Responsible for preparing the audit reports and summarizing the findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for ensuring that the audit work is performed in accordance with the International Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA Standards) and the client’s internal audit methodology.
  • Furthermore, you would lead project teams, manage client relationships, analyze data, develop strategies, manage teams, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to thought leadership. 
Your key responsibilities would include:
  • Project Management: Responsible for managing complex projects end-to-end, which includes defining project objectives, developing project plans, managing budgets, resources, and timelines, and ensuring high-quality project deliverables within defined scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Client Relationship Management: You would be the main point of contact for clients, managing client expectations, building relationships, and providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Strategy Development: You would be responsible for developing recommendations and strategies for clients based on their specific needs, which may involve researching industry trends, conducting market analysis, and developing business models.
  • Team Management: You would be responsible for managing a team of consultants and analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality work and successful project outcomes.
  • Business Development: You would identify new business opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.
  • Thought Leadership: You would be expected to develop thought leadership pieces such as whitepapers, articles, and blog posts that showcase the firm's expertise and thought leadership in the insurance consulting space.

  • Demonstrate technical capabilities in performing an internal audits, including planning, execution, data analysis, communication, report writing, project management, and quality assurance.
  • Must have a questioning mind and maintain an attitude of professional skepticism to ensure that the audit is conducted objectively
  • High ethical standards and being able to maintain confidentiality while conducting audits.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze the root cause, and provide solutions to mitigate risks and improve operations.
  • Ability to analyze a problem and create appropriate designs
  • Analytical skills to analyze complex data sets and derive insights to inform business decisions.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture and develop strategies that address clients’ needs.
  • Strong project management skills to manage complex projects end-to-end, including managing budgets, timelines, and project teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts and recommendations to clients clearly and concisely.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead project teams and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Deep understanding of the insurance industry, including industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to focus on details ensuring high-quality work and accurate analysis
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage changing priorities, and quickly adjust to new project requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

To qualify for the role, you must have

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience in the Insurance sector, including an insurance company and/or consulting firm.
  • Aware of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Big Data Analysis, etc. in the insurance sector that can help you provide innovative solutions and stay ahead of the competition.
  • An internationally recognized professional accounting qualification, such as a CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience working with global clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical content to non-technical customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access and/or SharePoint) and willing to learn firm-used technologies
  • Produces consistent quality work products/deliverables for which he/she is personally responsible
  • No material adverse findings from internal or external inspections that are directly associated with his or her role/responsibilities
  • Understands delivery center role expectations and supports the engagement team to deliver exceptional client service
  • Demonstrated project management, teaming, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills while working on multiple projects
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to client site as necessary
