Your Role at Baxter:
This position will be the lead on the preparation and filing of Baxter’s U.S. consolidated federal corporate income tax return including the preparation and filing of any estimated and extension tax payments related thereto. This role will also assist with the federal IRS audit, including assisting gathering the necessary information requested in the issued IRS document requests (IDRs). The Federal Manager will also be responsible for special projects which include assisting with an outside firm for the R&D credit study as well as help with excise tax and PCORI filings. Lastly, this role will prepare and/or review annual and quarterly U.S. federal tax provision calculations, including any book-tax adjustments.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Prepare and/or review U.S. federal corporate proforma returns and consolidated return items. This will comprise of extracting financial data from the company’s general ledger into CorpTax and preparing any book-tax adjustments.
- Prepare and/or review annual and quarterly U.S. federal tax provision calculations, including any book-tax adjustments
- Prepare and/or review federal tax estimated payments and extensions
- Prepare and/or review any corporate excise tax or PCORI fee filings
- Prepare and/or review and analyze any federal return-to-provision adjustments after the U.S. consolidated federal income tax return is filed
- Assist the Senior Manager with the U.S. federal and state R&D Credit study including scheduling interviews and managing the Company’s relationship with its external R&D credit service provider
- Assist with incoming information document requests (IDRs) and tax notices issued by the IRS.
- Oversee the activities of the Sr. Tax Analyst, including developing the leadership and technical skills of this direct report
- Maintain and review the U.S. federal tax return filing calendar to ensure compliance with all income tax filing requirements are satisfied
- Keep abreast on U.S. federal income tax law changes to ensure the accurate filing of the company’s federal income tax returns
- Assist with documentation and organization of files on SharePoint
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree required; CPA and/or MST preferred
- 5 plus years of corporate federal income tax background
- Proven track record of working close with various groups within a Corporate Tax function, including state income tax compliance, tax accounting, and federal audit groups
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in CorpTax is preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills for multi-tasking
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $80,000 to $180,000. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
