This role will work on the development of the total entity long range financial plan to the purpose of internal and external reporting by providing expert technical guidance and solutions to reporting issues.
As the Senior Finance Analyst - Business Planning, you'll be responsible:
• Key financial management reporting to senior stakeholders to support strategic and operational decision making at group, senior operating and finance leadership levels
• Supporting the translation of business activity into financial impact, including key assumptions, estimates and sensitivities. Addressing queries on reported numbers as requested by both operational and finance teams
• Loading of data into the planning tool, verifying accuracy and data sources
• Provide variance analysis of the long-range planning scenarios to prior status and prior years
• Perform sensitivity analysis upon key planning drivers
• Adherence to internal and external review & filing deadlines
• Operation of robust and rigorous controls over financial reporting processes to meet internal and external standards
• Support the group audit process through the timely delivery of the long-range plan, detailed basis of preparation and control operation, as well as with resolving queries on reported numbers and variance analysis
• Utilise data management, analytics and reporting tools to continually optimise processes both within finance and the wider business
• Support business projects by advising on accounting and reporting expertise as required in both business and system changes
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential:
• Previous experience in Finance Reporting role gained at a similar level
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and the ability to challenge and embed key processes
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, including excel, databases, and data visualisation
• Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
Desirable:
• CIMA / ACCA qualified (or working towards)
• Demonstrates a continuous improvement mind-set - able to pro-actively identify and implement process improvement opportunities
• Experience of Sarbanes-Oxley
