What you'll be doing

Takes accountability for discreet and/or complex bids within a specific field of responsibility
  • Identify, quantify and financial risk - key input to the bid decision making process
  • Support with recommendations and analysis into customer negotiations
  • On time and accurate completion of the Finance briefing for the appropriate DOA sign off having applied the best practices
  • Assurance for the accurate completion of customer pricing sheets
  • Contribute to the production of Finance Schedules
  • Produce bid P&L and cash flow for Complex Network and non-standard bids
  • Developing product knowledge to become subject matter expert
Skills required for the job
  • Member of an accounting professional body e.g. ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA
  • Senior stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making
  • Ability to operate under pressure of deadline driven sales environment
  • Demonstrate a high level of analytical capability

What you'll be doing

1. Delivers detailed analysis and recommendations for commercial deals, business decision, and investment appraisals/business cases, including financial outcomes and key performance indicators
2. Builds business partnering relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor, being able to both challenge and support
3. Supports with the construction of commercial propositions and complex bids
4. Supports bids and/or deals with financial modelling and analysis. Identifying dependencies between programmes and/or project benefits and output
5. Supports the commercial finance team to influence win rates and directly impact BT's drive for profitable growth on the more complex deals
6. Delivers financial planning deliverables, including budgeting, forecasts, and financial plans
7. Prepares management reporting, analyse data and provide insights to improve operational and financial performance
8. Identifies strategic issues and raises questions to help customers explore and understand their wider business challenges and recommends solutions to help them achieve their objectives
9. Mentors and coaches junior members of the finance team
10. Supports the identification and management of risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, raising any concerns as appropriate
11. Keeps knowledge up to date on emerging trends and changes in financial analysis principles and practices, sharing with team members
12. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within area of responsibility and communicate issues and areas for improvement to business unit/area managers such as through supporting resolution of any data issues impacting productivity or compliance
