What is the opportunity?

This is a great opportunity to work as part of our IT & Information Security team assisting in providing independent, exciting and risk focused assurance to support BoI in achieving its strategic objectives. You will work as part of an assurance team and provide domain expertise in the area of IT & Information Security risk and control.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop effective relationships with business partners across key IT and Information security functions.
  • Work with colleagues in GIA to evaluate internal controls and processes in order to provide objective and challenging risk based assurance through the planning, execution, and reporting of audits/reviews.
  • Support the IT audit director in developing our independent risk assessment, assurance plan and control environment opinion in relation to Technology, Information Security and Operational Resilience/BCM.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the key priorities, risks and challenges facing the Group.

What will make you stand out?

We are looking for someone with a strategic approach and the ability to understand and communicate technical issues in a business context.

Prior experience in risk management, assurance or technology is a must with strong credentials in leading audits and delivering high quality audit work throughout the audit lifecycle.

You will need to have methodology & analytical Skills with a proven understanding of internal control and risk concepts. You will be able to evaluate the adequacy of controls by considering business objectives and risks in an integrated manner.

On a more personal level, we are looking for excellent engagement leadership skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail. Someone who demonstrates sound judgement, drive, agility and resilience.

More about the team

The GIA Non-Financial Risk team is responsible for providing independent insight and opinion to key partners within the Group in relation to the management of Non-Financial Risk (NFR). Collaborating with the Head of Audit for NFR, the team includes our Data & Transformation, IT & Information Security and Risk and Compliance audit teams.

Our team is a successful, dynamic team who works closely with stakeholders across the Group to provide 'Independent Insight and Opinion' in relation to our key IT, Information Security & Operational Resilience priorities. This will include IT infrastructure, applications, and IT change programmes. Whilst this is an Internal Audit role, we welcome applications from those without prior audit experience.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - frequency to be agreed with manager.
