The Quality of Advice Remediation (QAR) Team is responsible for putting things right for our customers. Our job is to identify these customers, assess their histories and — if remediation is required — to fairly restore them to the correct financial position. We aim to do this once and to do it right.

This role sits within the QAR Forensics Team which has three main areas of focus:

  • Compensation determination - Dedicated to accurate and timely compensation outcomes.
  • Compensation alignment - To align our approach, identify efficiency and simplify how compensation is determined.
  • Compensation validation - To review and validate compensation tools.

The Forensic Accounting Specialist is a highly analytical role that is responsible the compensation determination of inappropriate financial advice, including: insurance advice, retirement and pension plans, SMSF etc.

On a day to day basis you will:

  • End to end accountability for the Customer remediation process and outcome.
  • Be a dedicated expert in the quantification of compensation amounts.
  • Improve the process through Accuracy in compensation calculation and provide guidance and support on determining compensation matters.
  • Effectively communicate and liaise with key stakeholders in relation to methodology and customer outcomes.
  • Ensure quality customer experiences and fair customer outcomes.
  • Advocate for accuracy and innovation in the compensation process.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Please note that we are interested in hearing from people who might not meet all the following criteria. We’re open to working with the right candidate to fill any skill gaps during your journey at CommBank.
  • Previous Financial Services experience in similar role.
  • Advanced Excel skills ,experience with financial models or loss and damage calculation.
  • Experience in solving complex problems backed up with research and rationale.
  • Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses to any calculation approach.
  • Bachelor degree minimum (Business, Commerce, Accounting Finance, Economics).
  • Qualified Accountant or seeking qualification is preferred.
