As a result of an internal move, the position of Finance Analyst - Corporate Reporting & Planning has become vacant. This is a key role in the Financial Performance & Planning team responsible for coordinating Trust-wide monthly reporting, forecasting, production of the monthly financial reporting pack and planning. The post-holder will work closely with Mark Claridge and will have unique opportunities to gain experience of finance from a strategic, trust-wide perspective.

This Band 7 role is being advertised as a permanent role and would ideally suit an enthusiastic and ambitious member of the current finance team who would enjoy experience in a different area of the department and who would learn quickly and be able to demonstrate high levels of capability from day one.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
One of two finance analysts, the post holder will provide a wide-ranging financial reporting and forecasting service under the line management of the Head of Finance - Corporate Reporting and Planning, to include:
- Provision of a comprehensive management accounting service for the Trust's central budgets.
- Maintenance of the Trust's high-level reporting and budgetary allocation control systems, including the control process relating to the upload of budget journals to the financial ledger.
- Coordination of the month-end reporting cycle. The post holder will be required to work closely with clinical boards to ensure a smooth process is followed with all reports delivered with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordination of the Trust's financial forecasting process, management accounting reporting database and production of the monthly financial reporting pack.
- Provision of trust wide data on workforce reporting and other ad-hoc information, as required, to the Trust's central workforce teams.
- Supporting the Head of Finance - Corporate Reporting and Planning in the production and submission of monthly reporting returns to North Central London ICB and NHS England.
- Deputising for the Head of Finance - Corporate Reporting and Planning as appropriate.
Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level, with a strong academic record.
- CCAB qualified or part qualified accountant or equivalent knowledge and experience in a relevant finance role.

- Demonstrate experience of financial planning, budget strategy and control, and financial reporting.
- Experience of using General Ledger and financial reporting software packages
- Proven and substantial NHS experience within a finance function.

- Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of non-finance staff from budget holders to directors both internal and external to the Trust.
- Highly computer literate with advanced MS Office skills
