Job Description

As part of the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Payments Audit Team you will be responsible for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment globally across Treasury Services, Merchant Services, Trade and Working Capital and Commercial Card within the CIB line of business. You will be involved in assessing controls over significant projects including business reorganizations and acquisitions, technology developments/conversions, off-shoring and product development.

Job Summary:

You will primarily be responsible for the coverage of Cash Management, Trade and Merchant Services businesses in the region. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of the CIB businesses, as well as working with stakeholders and audit colleagues in the regional and global Audit teams in developing a strong control environment. You will have the opportunity to build and maintain relationships whilst providing control related advice to business stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:
  • You will lead and participate on audit engagements from planning to reporting and produce quality deliverables to both department and professional standards while ensuring audits are completed timely and within budget.
  • You will be the control environment of the banking businesses, with a view to providing recommendations for improvement where emerging issues or weaknesses are identified.
  • You and your team will conduct audits independently and efficiently, including risk assessment, audit planning, testing, control evaluation, report drafting and follow-up and verification of issue closure. Ensure audits are completed within budget and timelines.
  • You will give senior audit management and internal stakeholders timely updates and insight on the design and effectiveness of business, risk, operation and technology control practices, and thematic firm-wide control and industry developments.
  • You will be able to keep abreast of evolving regulatory changes, market events and emerging impacting futures businesses to drive appropriate ongoing audit coverage in close partnership with the wider Audit team.
  • You will have the opportunity to travel to other countries as part of regional audit engagements.
  • You will have the opportunity to identify opportunities to use data analytics to provide audit assurance and insight.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline and/ or other relevant professional qualifications, e.g. ACA, CPA, CIA, CAMS etc.
  • 5 years minimum internal/ external audit or relevant business experience within a financial services organization preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading audits and working effectively within a matrix organization, manage multiple projects and participate in audit assignments in a team environment.
  • Thorough understanding of internal control concepts and audit methodology with the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management, and influence change.
  • Proven ability to be able to multi-task, complete projects on time and on budget, and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Ability and knowledge of using innovative automated auditing tools.
