About the role
To manage the client relationship and delivery of service to a portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of all client work across the portfolio of clients in a timely manner and to a high standard in accordance with Regulations. Develop opportunities within existing client portfolio and assist with continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboarding new capital markets and fund clients, unpack and define new client delivery, participate in the implementation of fund structures onto the accounting system
- Capture information in accounting system for Capital Markets clients. Including the following:
- Banking and cashbook maintenance
- Debtor and creditors maintenance and reconciliations
- General ledger maintenance through adjusting journals
- Processing transactions in the fund accounting system for complex and non-complex funds: asset deals, security pricing, foreign exchange spot and forward rates calculations as well as calculation of the fees, cash, and securities reconciliation.
- Calculation and production of accurate NAVs of the various alternative investment funds (private equity, real estate, debt, other alternatives).
- Review of basic tasks (payment instructions, regulatory reporting) for non-complex funds.
- Analyse and perform waterfall reporting
- Preparation, review and presenting of monthly and quarterly management reports
- Review, test and reconcile the work and data received from third parties
- VAT return review and submission
- Preparation and review of financial statements
- Liaising with auditors and facilitating annual statutory audits
- Populating and submitting corporate tax returns
- Assist with the co-ordination of monthly and annual trackers
- Other ad-hoc duties related to Fund Administration and corporate secretarial tasks
- Perform any other reasonable assignment requested by management
- Personal utilization of 90% - whereby 90% of hours are aligned to client work and service
- Supervise, build and develop relationships with clients and advisors/auditors as appropriate as assigned within the portfolio, building a first-rate professional relationship with assigned clients acting as a principal point of contact
- Day to day supervision client relationship management of a portfolio of clients
- Ensure the delivery of services in accordance with each client engagement letter
- Attend client meetings, as required
- Share relevant information and updates to clients
- Oversee completion of know your client procedures for all clients
Key Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience working in a capital market or fund type of environment
- Graduate in a relevant financial/commercial qualification, e.g., BCom Accounting
- Post Graduate qualification preferred
- Good knowledge of IFRS, especially IFR9
- 3+ years full function bookkeeping, e-filing, or other tax submission software, experience
- Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with bookkeeping systems and reporting software. Pastel accounting knowledge will be advantages.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Other characteristics: accurate, self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
