Following investment in Oracle Cloud technology we have changed our accounting procedures resulting in the need for an Accounting Compliance Officer role to perform central duties to support ongoing conformance with our standard procedures.

This FMCG company that is based in Chippenham is looking for a immediately available Interim Accounting Assistant to join there team. The Finance Service Centre is a fast moving, customer focused team, providing a range of professional services to support this busy finance team.

Description

The key responsibilities for the Interim Accounting Assistant are:

  • To review and carry out data accuracy and control compliance checks on all journal submissions received into the Centre from the business.
  • To be able to effectively communicate with the business to address any identified control issues and follow these through to resolution.
  • Process journals into Oracle within the agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • To monitor and track journal volumes submitted and to identify any consistent trends that require addressing, producing an action plan to minimize failure points.
  • Produce regular key metrics and trends for submission to management.
  • Ensure prompt escalation of any issues.
  • Support the Accounting Services Team during the month covering Central recharges and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Provision of ad-hoc support to the accounting services team as required.

Profile

The successful Interim Accounting Assistant will have the following:

  • Experience of working in an office environment,

  • Be flexible and able to work longer days at peak points in the month to ensure that Service level agreements are met.
  • Studying towards a recognized accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/AAT)
  • Experience of working under pressure, prioritizing, and managing competing deadlines
  • Demonstrating teamwork and togetherness to achieve goals,
  • Ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality/efficiency benefits,
  • Ability to demonstrate strong excel skills.
  • Demonstrate a customer service mindset.
  • Effective communication skills
