Job Description

Administration:
  • Lead day-to-day finance management - budget preparation, expenses management, invoicing, audits, payroll management, tax, pension, NHF filing, and any other necessary finance request. Also, process invoices and follow up with clients, workspace members, and partners as needed.
  • Maintenance of the general ledgers, reconciliation of line items, maintenance of Asset Registers (if applicable), periodic reconciliation of bank and cash balances, period reconciliation of Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables, periodic preparation of trial balance.
  • Set up an accounting system and chart of accounts creation. Development o financial statement templates, customer and vendor engagement templates, Review of contract terms in line with relevant accounting standards, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses, coordinate the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data while providing transaction origination documents: invoices, bank statements, vouchers, contracts, certificates, other financings documents.
  • Manage bank accounts and necessary banking relationships.

Compliance and Reporting:
  • Develop finance and accounting organizational policy/playbook to guide colleagues, departments, and team members on the relevant procedures and guidance as it relates to finance and accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards to avoid legal issues while recommending new processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that the company is compliant with Tax Management (VAT, PAYEE, Transaction tax, and Company Income Tax Compliance) and other statutory payments or registrations.
  • Monthly/quarterly/yearly Management reporting, Annual Financial reporting with key KPIs, statement of Financial Position, statement of Profit or Loss and other comprehensive income, statement of cash flows, and others as requested.
  • Present financial reports to Management and others, as deemed necessary.
  • Protect finance and account information with high confidentiality.


Qualifications
  • BSc. in Banking, Finance, and Accounting related courses.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in similar roles will be considered in lieu of the above degrees.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Proven knowledge of accounting procedures, tax regulations, audits, and other related compliance issues as identified in the job description.
  • Knowledge of drafting and presenting structured finance reports.
  • In-depth understanding of bookkeeping procedures, financial data analysis, forecasting, and financial management procedures.
  • Strong analytical, foresight, and planning skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good leadership and management skills.
  • Additional certifications like ANAAN, ICAN CPA, and other relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Available to start as soon as possible.
