Job description
- Prepare accounts for the more complex entities
- Review accounts prepared by other team members & external accountants
- Review ledgers & provide feedback to bookkeepers
- Provide training & development to client accountants and bookkeepers
- Plan, prioritise and organise tasks and activities efficiently, ensuring effective time management
- Effectively manage time input and work in progress on own portfolio
- Actively support the accounting manager with KPI monitoring & reporting
- Support the accounting manager in monitoring team workflows & ensuring timely completion
Tasks
- Proactively contribute to the team objectives of achieving both individual and team targets on a daily basis with high performance against key performance indicators achieving objectives
- Act as a role model to implement a culture which supports the IQ-EQ Core Values and deliver excellent client service, operational effectiveness and efficiencies
- Add value to the service delivered to the client administration department
- Actively support the manager and staff within the Accounting Team
- Continue and maintain relevant technical knowledge, ensuring CPD requirements are met
- Monitor time spent on accounting and bookkeeping, notifying the Manager if there are changes to requirements, which will impact time charges on a client entity as they will need to be considered re the overall client fee arrangement.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Team Members and across all Teams locally to ensure a collaborative approach
- Participate fully and proactively in the promotion of a constructive “client servicing” culture
- Using your own judgement to bring to the attention of management any issues which you feel appropriate, in particular ensuring that concerns and identified risks are reported in a timely and effective manner
- Maintain proper and orderly client records
- Maintain detailed knowledge of policies and procedures in place and responsibility to ensure they are adhering to in the course of day to day administration activities
- Invite feedback and look to improve performance
- Be aware of risk factors and refer upwards, exercising judgement as to when manager help is needed
- Pro-actively comment on processes with respect to improvements and efficiencies
- Ability to understand trust and company legal documents.
- Acquire knowledge of business activities, products and services
- Assist with project work as the business requires
- Good understanding of industry best practice in relation to Trust and Company accounting
- A good understanding of the principles of taxation affecting Trust and Corporate Structures

Required Experience
- Relevant experience in a similar role within the financial services sector
- Relevant professional qualifications (ACCA, CAT, AAT)
- Good knowledge of Trust and Company accounts and bookkeeping
- Good awareness of anti-money laundering, regulatory and other compliance legislation
- Good knowledge of Company procedures
- Excellent numeracy skills and must be able to organise themselves and be able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines and require minimal supervision
- Very good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Very good organisational and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Works collaboratively with peers and colleagues
