We are looking for an Accountant Intercompany to join our Finance team. This role will be based at our The Merlin Hub - Basingstoke office, reporting into the Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

About the Role...

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of financial control, accounting, and reporting activities in accordance with company policy, performance, and quality standards. You will work closely with all departments and key stakeholders to support the financial reporting process, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure a seamless flow of information and collaboration. You will drive best practices, process efficiencies, and standardization through continuous improvement using Visual Management methodology and tools, and your expertise will be essential in recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.

You will take ownership of balance sheet accounts and reviews with Finance managers, ensuring all key tasks are completed to scheduled timelines and in line with accounting policies. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help maintain all financial controls and systems within your role. About You...

  • Experience working in a shared services role preferably within a similar operating model and size of organisation
  • Part qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with considerable experience within finance role
  • Experience of month end close process
  • Strong technical working knowledge of intercompany practice
  • Experience of Accounts Receivables & Payables processes
  • Experience of working with new finance systems preferably during implementations and stabilisations
  • Experience of process improvements and standardising finance processes
  • Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment
  • Communication skills necessary to coordinate month end close across multiple functions
  • Attention to detail with a proactive approach to obtaining appropriate supporting evidence
  • Coordination with divisional finance organisations to highlight/resolve issues
  • Confident to engage and challenge senior stakeholders on change, process and policies
