The Group FP&A Team

This is a key role in the Forward Looking Team within Group FP&A. The Forward Looking Team is responsible for Group planning, strategy and forecasting. The team works with stakeholders across the business, to provide insightful information to various audiences, including ExCo and the Board. This is a Finance Manager role, reporting to the Director of Forward Looking Reporting in the Group FP&A team.

The role involves collaborating with finance business partner teams to ensure finance strategy is delivered with insightful analysis for decision making. The successful candidate should have proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast- paced environment to provide value added insight, with an attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Co-ordinate and create forward-looking reports and analysis, used by global Senior Management, Treasury, Investor Relations, Finance Business Partners and Strategy to help create deeper analytical insight into the businesses financial activities.
  • Lead on adhoc and special projects that come up within Group FP&A.
  • Drive model, system and process improvements across FP&A activities to streamline and optimise activity.
  • Partner closely with the finance teams within the functions, and other teams across Finance (e.g IR, Treasury, IMO reporting, M&A, Auditors and Strategy) to prepare proactive insightful analysis that drives business action and outcomes.
  • Confident to lead and support on aspects of the budget process between divisions and functions, Project Management and Systems/Technology teams. Managing multi-year financial plans, providing actionable insights and challenging business managers where required on cost or revenue decisions in order to deliver on stakeholder requirements.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of the businesses to enable delivery of meaningful management information packs to ExCo, Financial Leadership Team (FLT), Investor Relations and other key stakeholders. Understanding the P&L impact of decision making for internal divisions and functions.

  • Divisional and functional FP&A leads, Financial Controllership, Treasury, Investor Relations, Integration team.
Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies
  • Expert level with MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to grasp and distil key messages to provide powerful insights to range finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Have an eye for detail with a strong sense of process ownership and multi-tasking ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Collaboration skills to partner effectively with various teams and across functions of the business (Finance and Non-finance). Communicating emerging issues promptly and influencing decisions on behalf of the team within related finance steering groups or meetings.
  • Knowledge of Hyperion, SAP, Essbase, Tesseract, Pyramid or Oracle planning tools.
Education / Certifications:
  • Professional Finance Qualification - e.g. MBA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
