The Powertrain finance team is a dynamic team providing all-round financial support for internally developed electrified and internal combustion propulsion programmes and powertrain system installations within vehicle programmes.

As well as providing financial control, the finance team acts as a key business partner to the Engineering and Commercial teams ensuring that the programmes achieve financial targets. The Whitley based role (with travel to Gaydon) enables operational interaction with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Commercial teams, offering the opportunity to become a true business partner.

As the Finance Business Partner Analyst, you'll be responsible:
• Deliver finance solutions to support the strategic direction of the business while ensuring the Finance strategy and approach is aligned across the business unit.
• Support the management team to achieve short and long-term strategic objectives by delivering fiscal year plans and initiatives through proactive finance business partnering.
• Cross functional working with the wider finance community to deliver finance strategies and initiatives.
• Develop strong working relationships with programme management, engineering module leaders, purchasing, cost engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams.
• Key contact and business partner for the programmes, offering financial insight and proactive challenge to all relevant operational areas.
• Responsible for managing financial health for powertrain system installation material cost and investment within vehicle programmes.
• Frequent analysis and reporting of financials to help support the monthly programme reporting process, gateway submission and closure of actions.
• Calculate finance sensitivities understanding key value levers and use of financial analysis to identify opportunities to improve business performance. Managing risks and opportunities of programmes.
• Support the drafting of submissions for quarterly business reviews.
• Working with the relevant teams to ensure that the bill of material is robust and accurate.
• Preparing business cases e.g. make vs buy, cost reduction proposals - validating inputs with operational stakeholders and recommending next steps and actions.
• Support with presenting programme updates to senior stakeholders across the wider business.
• Resolve customer issues and concerns through effective cross functional team networking.
• Develop and deliver accurate forecasting.
• Conduct root cause analysis of variances and overseeing course correction.
• Adhere to the policies, controls and governance.
• Accountable for delivering against agreed KPIs/objectives.
• Ensure operational teams are provided with robust and relevant MI, through effective collaboration and networking with relevant teams.
• Showcase key insights in an impactful and easy-to-understand way through data visualisation and compelling narratives.
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You'll join us with previous experience in a finance business partner analyst role (senior finance analyst) at a similar level as well as this you'll have sound financial and commercial business insight shown through evidence of developing, introducing new or innovative practices/processes in support of strategic business goals.

Naturally, you'll be comfortable in challenging operation stakeholder and influencing conclusions.

You'll have strong numerical, analytical skills supported by communication and presentation skills - used to translate financial issues for operational teams.

You'll also have:
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and the ability to balance delivery of conceptual work with attention to detail and hands on delivery.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and nurture relationships.
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage own workload and work at speed and under pressure.
• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA or similar).
• Degree qualified or equivalent experience
• Strong IT skills.
• Demonstrate a continuous improvement mind set with the ability to identify and implement solutions and enhancements
• Ability to work at pace within a complex matrix structure and an agile workplace
• Proactive problem solver
