Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin's attractions and brands on a global scale , we hiring for Accountant's to join our Finance team. We are looking for an individual who is a fully qualified Accountant with experience, and 5 individuals who are newly qualified.

These roles will be based at our The Merlin Hub - Basingstoke office and reports into the Senior Accountant - R2R on a permanent basis.

About the Role...

  • Preparation of monthly journals working closely with key business partners for the appropriate level of support
  • Accurate and timely month end reporting in line with the Finance hub timetable across international legal entities
  • Preparation of month-end analysis and commentary for management reporting
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations to support reviews with Finance hub managers and business partners
  • Intercompany accounting and reconciliations, including an overview of group recharges and settlements in line with transfer pricing agreements
  • Maintain financial controls in accordance with group policies and procedures
  • Support the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly flash reports in line with the centralised reporting strategy
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements and supporting information requests for tax return completion
  • Support indirect tax, local tax and ad-hoc statistical reporting
  • Liaise with internal and external audit teams
  • Main point of contact for external stakeholders
Fully qualified and experienced:

  • Deputise for line manager when required
  • Take responsibility to guide others and ensure outputs from across the team are to the required standard
Newly qualified:

  • Review the work of others and develop logical sense checks where required
About You...

  • Experience working in a UK shared services role preferably within a similar operating model and size of organisation
  • Experience of month end close process
  • Experience of working with new finance systems preferably during implementations and stabilisations
  • Experience of process improvements and standardising finance processes
  • Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment
  • Communication skills necessary to coordinate month end close across multiple functions
  • Attention to detail with a proactive approach to obtaining appropriate supporting evidence
  • Coordination with divisional finance organisations to highlight/resolve issues
  • Confident to engage and challenge senior stakeholders on change, process and policies
  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA plus experience OR newly qualified/finalist ACA, ACCA or CIMA
