Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Team Profile
The Finance Divisional Data Office (FDDO) owns the Data Governance framework for the Finance Division. The FDDO promotes best practices for data management with a focus on data quality while serving as Finance's representative to the Firm on data matters through:

• Data Governance: facilitating Finance-wide data governance processes through the Finance Data Governance Committee (DGC) including escalating and coordinating activities across the Firm
• Issue Management: managing, monitoring, and reporting on Finance data issues
• Strategic Data Sourcing: managing sourcing of data to the Finance Data Warehouse (FDW) from the Firm's data authorities and enabling the adoption of FDW data by Finance constituents

Role Description

• Tracking, updating meta data and reporting of Data Issues
• Facilitating and analyzing the issue remediation across various teams in Finance, by hosting and facilitating conference calls amongst SMEs required to drive items to closure
• Working across teams to articulate issue facts, materiality, impact and track direct benefits
• Accountable for escalation of Data issues to FDC via Data champions and the Data Councils
• Support, facilitate and strengthen the Issue Management and identification of risk concentration across Finance, including the establishment of key documentation and controls
• Prepare materials for FDC and working group meetings including status updates and implementation planning
• Work across control functions to support the implementation of Policies, Standards and Processes required as part of the Governance Framework

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in a Finance / investment banking preferred
• Strong financial product knowledge, experience in regulatory or liquidity reporting is a plus
• Knowledge of RWA, SACCR, Basel reporting is preferred
• Self-starter; good time management; team player
• Strong problem-solving, analytical/logical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with data quality management, financial services or capital markets data is a plus
