At Leonardo in Yeovil, the Home of British helicopters, we design, develop and deliver aircraft operating around the world including multiple Search & Rescue fleets and Royal Navy Merlin and Wildcat helicopters.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to support the Financial Controller.
This role is key in ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to the business, adhering to both Group and Statutory policies and procedures.
What you will do
The primary purpose of the Senior Financial Accountant, is to provide financial governance to the reporting requirements of the business.
You will deliver the Group reporting requirements to timetable, with appropriate understanding and interpretation of the results, support the co-ordination of the external Financial audits and manage the Budgetary and Forecasting process.
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant, with experience in people management, who is seeking the next step in their career. We can offer excellent training and progression opportunities in this department so the role would suit an individual who is keen to learn and progress.

What we are looking for
- Technical knowledge and skill in accounting commensurate with a Qualified Accountant with considerable experience in an Accounting environment.
- Knowledge of applicable company processes and accounting transactions
- Excellent PC Skills, both ERP and Microsoft office
- Interpersonal and team skills, able to liaise with external parties in a confident and resilient manner.
- Numerate with an ability to prioritise tasks
- Attention to detail
- People Management experience
- Knowledge of accounting systems such as Cognos or Artemis
