Job Type: Permanent


Location and flexible working: This is a hybrid role that could be based in either our Wythall or Edinburgh offices. We recognise the benefits of flexible working and will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.


Salary and benefits: £80,000 - £100,000 plus 30% bonus up to 60%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

The role

As the Strategy & Operating Model Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Finance Chief Operating Office and wider Finance Leadership team to drive the overall Finance Vision, operational strategy and operating model design of Finance.

You will have responsibility to drive the operating model design to deliver upon the 'Finance Vision' and strategy. As part of the role you will need to consider customer and external demands of Phoenix Group Value Centres and translate that into key facets of the Finance Operational strategy.

When defining the operating model, you will need to consider how the operating model will support future Finance growth as well as how you will work with the wider Finance business in contributing to the detailed operating model design

You must also ensure consistent definition of this strategy as well as communication of the 'vision' with Boards, Investment Committees, ExCos, the PRA / FCA.

What are we looking for?


With a background in regulated Financial Services you will have a demonstrable track record of planning and organising strategy and planning processes.


You will have outstanding experience and skills in helping businesses to grow revenue, optimise cost and improve customer service by designing and implementing improvements in operating models or core processes through the seamless execution of a chosen strategy.

You will also have a proven track record of understanding the drivers of a Business Unit as well as assisting them in the assessment of markets and creating appropriate strategies. You will also be able to demonstrate where you have undertaken assessments of new product areas or geographies of interest.
