Key Responsibilities:
- Define platform technical requirements in light of the aspirations set forth in Finance Reporting Strategy and Finance Digital Strategy.
- Lead a cross functional team composed of FO and IT resources to deliver a fit-for-purpose data platform for Business Intelligence.
- Set up and establish protocols and governance for a centralized, shared data ingestion service to cater to reporting and analytics needs of FO and other Finance and business partners.
- Promote a design thinking, agile, lean start up mindset and implement healthy engineering practices within the platform team.
- Take ownership of the sandbox, provide governance, and set up a rapid promotion process to accompany rapid prototyping.
- Work with the Chief Data Office, IRM Architecture & Platforms group to ensure the data platform adheres to best practices in data management and security.
- Speak confidently to technical teams about platform management, product development as well as commercial stakeholders about how technology can help address their challenges.
- Act as technology translator and lead, coach and mentor MI experts and developers to deliver insightful analytical tools using the platform’s capabilities.
- Use stakeholder feedback to keep the platform fit-for-purpose, and external perspectives to constantly evolve the roadmap so the platform remains future-ready.
- Understand and analyze costs, value and risks associated with technology decisions and provide advice to MICOE and Finance and business stakeholders.
- Ensure smart resourcing to build and operate the platform, within MICOE, in the Hybrid team, and within IT, bringing in relevant external vendors to close any skill gaps.
- Work with MICOE BI Strategy Manager and BI Delivery Manager to socialize new operating model for data acquisition and post-launch scale and sustain activities.
- Manage senior level stakeholders for the platform, provide early warnings on new requirements and red flag any potential unmet needs and problems.
- Defines KPIs and workplans and steers the team towards achieving these objectives. Proactively shares best practice, ideas and insights with colleagues and provides and requests feedback. Advises and guides colleagues and makes suggestions for improvement.
- Initiates, develops and implements E2E Finance Operations policy and procedures.

- Large project team – 11-15 data engineers to manage on dotted line basis.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years’ experience in business intelligence, product development or data analytics.
- Minimum Education or Certification: Four-year bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or Business
- 5-8 years recent experience delivering digital products from prototype to production
- Proven experience in managing multiple, cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of CX – UX/UI, Cloud technologies (eg Azure, Salesforce etc..), API
- Experience with complex application landscapes and integration
- Experience managing complex, multi-phased projects involving stakeholders at different levels.
- Proactive identification and resolution of problems in production of reports and analysis.
- Excellent people management skills, leading direct and indirect teams without authority.
- Must have out of the box thinking in terms of resource mobilization and product delivery
- Good understanding of digital capabilities and the value they can deliver to Shell
- Practical experience of working in and with techniques such as agile, scrum, lean start-up, design thinking, DevOps, Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) creation and rollout/deployment experience
- Results-oriented, ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Strong empathetic characteristics, with collaborative style, and has the ability to build strong and trusted relationships and networks
