DISCOVER THE ROLE

This role will be leading our SPC (Special Purpose Company) Accounting team to develop and strengthen our presence in this field – developing client relationships, supporting, training, and overseeing work of field staff performing bookkeeping and cash management to SPC clients.

This position will be reporting to the Managing Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SPC Accounting services

  • Review and supervise client related accounting output produced by the team
  • Provide technical accounting update training teams’ staff on both an ad hoc and scheduled timetable.
  • Part of the job duties may also include acting as a statutory / representative director for select SPC client entities

SPC Taxation compliance services

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of tax compliance matters with the support of the team and working with our tax partners on Tax registrations / corporate tax returns / Consumption tax return/Depreciable assets return, etc.
  • Providing final sign-off of all tax reporting prior to Public Officer or Tax Agent signature.

SPC Client On-boarding and Management

  • Take the lead and sign-off on new client on-boarding process including preparation of on-boarding plan, analysis and planning of operational needs, resources, implementation plan and client/TMF Group relationship protocols which achieve agreed client service levels.
  • Establish and update procedures in relation to tax and accounting compliance services provided to clients, including ensure appropriate documentation on each clients’ specific requirements.
  • Ensure client work is completed within budgeted time and report out of scope client work undertaken.
  • Ensure clients are billed for accounting services on a regular basis including any out-of-scope work.
  • Handle client complaints and dispute resolution and escalate to the MD where necessary.
  • Ensure TMF Group internal compliance procedures are adhered to for all new clients.

Performance Management

  • To prepare and participate in regular performance reviews.
  • To prepare a personal development plan for one of the reviews to improve current job performance and prepare for your future.
  • Take responsibility for career and apply appropriate development initiatives.
  • Support will be given through coaching, internal and external training and further education were deemed relevant to the role.

SPC Business Development

  • Promote TMF Group’s services and work with the Business Development Team on opportunities.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships and liaison with clients.
  • Assist with completion of new business proposals.
  • Address client's requirements and suggests new proposals for improving service.

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree holder in Accountancy or business-related discipline.
  • 12 or more years of Accounting & Tax experience in the accounting firm or BPO Professional Services environment with an emphasis in the SPC (Special Purpose Company) / PERE (Private Equity and Real Estate) field.
  • Experienced in Team management, Active support of team and co-operative activities.
  • Command of business level in oral and written English and Japanese.
  • Excellent client servicing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze customer specific demands and translate into customer specific solutions.
  • Preferred Professional working experience outside Japan in the service delivery company.
  • IFRS, US-GAAP knowledge
  • Preferrable with professional membership and certification including Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accounts and/or Japan Certified Tax Accountant Association
