Job Purpose

The Finance Managers report to the Finance Director for UK and Ireland.  They work with the finance transaction processing staff for the UK and Ireland Market (“UKI market”) who are based in Katowice, Poland. 

The Finance Managers take responsibility for the provision of all accounting, reporting and budgeting/forecasting for all of the UK companies, ensuring the delivery of internal and external accounts, budgets and forecasts on time and to a high standard.

There are two Finance Managers.  One takes responsibility for all of the Irish entities and for one of the UK companies.  The other is responsible for the remaining UK entities.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Request set up of new GL codes and keep GL structure up to date (consolidation codes/background postings)
  • Advise on cost codings for P2P staff, in line with Group Accounting Manual
  • Review/maintain FA ledger and dispose of fixed assets no longer in use
  • IFRS 15 – maintain data and check postings
  • IFRS 16 – maintain data and check postings
  • Prepare or review manual prepayments and accruals
  • Check prepayments, accruals and other BS codes
  • Flash reporting in Onestream for each entity
  • Preparation of revenue and profitability analysis
  • Preparation of internal report and review for exceptions
  • Complete group reporting pack (GRP) for each entity and disclosures; upload to Onestream
  • Calculate tax and accrue as required; ensure CIT payments made on time
  • Liaise with external tax advisers and complete tax questionnaires
  • Respond to email queries from Group Finance
  • Review RDC work, train and support RDC team members as required
  • Manage statutory and group audits
  • Prepare statutory accounts and supporting information (disclosures)
  • Prepare budget and forecast information
  • Cash flow forecasting and liaison with Treasury
  • Check VAT returns, prepare non-recoverable VAT calculation (Ireland)
  • Complete government statistical returns
  • Prepare management reports (revenue reports and report for exec meetings)
  • Lead Group-initiated projects e.g. Enate, Onestream/GL integration/P2P OCR introduction etc
  • Ad hoc work for Finance Director, Group Finance, service delivery teams
  • Approve bank payments and maintain access on banking platforms for other users
  • Management of working capital balances (AR and unbilled revenues)
  • Support the other Finance Manager

Requirements

  • Graduate or equivalent experience
  • Accounting professional qualification essential eg ACCA, ICAEW, with 5 years PQE required
  • Substantial experience in a relevant role, to include extensive people management responsibilities
  • Resourceful, independent and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to plan ahead for themselves and the team
  • Analytical structured mind set with ability to follow and build upon existing processes and ensure data is maintained with accuracy and consistency
  • Over three years of direct people management experience and demonstrable skills essential
  • Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of MS Dynamics desirable and other ERP packages as appropriate
