Your role
Are you a qualified Accountant with an interest in analyzing and substantiating financial information? Do you have an accounting and controlling background, strong financial reporting skills and an ability to communicate clearly and work well across an international team? We're looking for a motivated and proactive individual to:
- drive the preparation and validation of high-quality financial information, including analysis and preparation of internal control documentation to support UBS Switzerland AG standalone disclosures in interim and annual reports and regulatory filings as well as and global financial controlling of GWM and P&C Business Division
- act as the local master mind to develop analytics and insights to financial statements. As such operate with a controller mindset, challenging the status quo while communicating confidently and working closely with senior stakeholders in other finance teams globally
- contribute senior insights to and drive forward / enable enhanced transparency on financial and regulatory reporting, including concept development and related IT infrastructure implementation
- support change initiatives, including implementation of new or amended accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- identify, and act on, opportunities to optimize internal controls, analytical review procedures and other processes.

Your team
You will be part of the Region Switzerland Financial Accounting & Controlling team, working in Krakow, within the Entity and GWM and P&C Business Division Accounting & Controlling organization.

We are an international team, responsible for the daily and monthly financial close processes of UBS Switzerland AG and the preparation and analysis of internal, regulatory and external financial reporting for this legal entity as well as for the global financial controlling of the GWM and P&C Business divisions' monthly, quarterly and annual financials. As such our team controls the most significant part of the Financial Statement of the global market leading Wealth Manager. We have the objective of achieving high-quality financial reporting, transparent and agile internal control reporting and ensuring compliance with IFRS, Swiss GAAP and other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. By delivering internal, external and regulatory reporting that is accurate, timely and provides valuable insights, our team plays a vital role in supporting management decision making and in protecting the firm's financial reputation.

We aim to develop subject matter experts in the accounting and financial reporting space who can communicate effectively with senior stakeholders. We seek to continually challenge and enhance processes and controls, build further transparency and insights into our reporting products and identify opportunities for efficiency / automation. With these goals in mind, we are regularly engaged in change initiatives (accounting, reporting and infrastructure related) together with other stakeholders in the Group.

Your expertise
You have:
- qualified accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) or University Degree in Finance / Accounting
- at least 5-8 years of work experience with a comparable financial institution or in a Big 4 company auditing a comparable financial institution
- strong accounting background (in particular IFRS, exposure to other standards and in particular regulatory requirement is a plus.) and controlling experience in a financial institution or audit firm.
- an ability to learn quickly and work efficiently, with flexibility to rotate between different reporting and controlling tasks
- an ability to self-develop insightful analytical reviews
- experience working with financial reporting tools and data sourcing, including report design (e.g. Excel, Power Query, Power BI)
- an ability to communicate ideas in a clear and concise way, and interest in building relationships across an international team
- robust analytical skills and an inquisitive nature, with a knowledge of, or interest in learning about, banking topics (e.g., financial markets and products, risk management, etc.)
