Market Data Auditor is responsible for auditing all clients to ensure that current FTSE Russell Commercial Policies are adhered to. The aim of the team is to ensure all clients/vendors using End Of Data are audited regularly.

Role profile

The Market Data Auditor role is a critical function which ensures that the use of all FTSE Russell Data, inclusive of Equity & Fixed Income Index Data, Industry Classification Benchmark, and Composites that would be used as part of a client's daily work flow through various platforms and products are validated through on-site/remote client/vendor audits, and that any reporting discrepancies are identified.

The role holder is expected to have a full understanding of EOD Commercial Policies and be equipped to challenge the manner in which the data is being used, whilst identifying additional risk controls that will allow the team to better ascertain client reporting errors.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships and ensure that expectations are managed throughout the audit process
  • Ensuring that a good understanding of current and new commercial policies is maintained.
  • Conduct market data audits at end client and market data vendor sites, using best practice guidelines to identify discrepancies in end-user entitlement and reporting processes
  • Produce accurate and detailed audit analyses within a given' timescales for presentation to the audited party
  • Effectively plan and conclude audit work to ensure that individual and team targets are met each quarter.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills
  • Appropriate knowledge and experience within the financial services industry, particularly with knowledge of how market data is used in sell-side, buy-side and trading environments
  • Proven knowledge of market data vendor and third-party application providers' products
  • Proven experience of third-party market data inventory systems (MDM, Infomatch, FITS etc.)
  • Ability to deliver high quality work within agreed timescales
  • Proven experience of researching and analysing data with rigour and being able to identify data inconsistencies
  • Advanced skills are required in Microsoft office applications, inclusive of Excel and Word
Candidate must be able to demonstrate a high level of capability in data manipulation by analysing and producing reports with the minimum of assistance

Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or equivalent
- Previous experience in commercial and contract negotiations.
