MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
IFRS 17
To take a lead role for implementation of IFRS 17, including coordination with different departments for the swift implementation thereof, for which the incumbent should play a vital role in following: Transforming overall GL operations function including SOPs inline with the requirement of IFRS 17. Transforming overall Chart of Accounts in line with the requirement of IFRS 17. Supervision and review of various MIS as required by the Management Committee from time to time, including expense analysis, their trends, areas of improvement and cost savings; Coordination with actuarial team with respect to IFRS 17’s implementation specially with respect to FOUR-PHASE approach as specified by SECP.
ANNUAL BUDGETING / FORECASTING & BUDGET REPORTING
Review and consolidation of forecast expenses, Capex Budget, borrowing projections etc. for annual budget exercise for CFO review; Submission of 5 years’ projected balance sheet for CFO review; Review and consolidation of forecast and budget expenses, long term borrowing cost projections, and Capex forecast / budget for annual SPM exercise, for CFO review. Preparation / review of reporting formats to AKFED of approved forecast/budget, budgeted dividend, loan and other templates, for CFO review. Coordination with AKFED for necessary reporting of forecast and business plan of JLI, as well as all other relevant reporting to parent company. Preparation of special reporting to AKFED as per requirement for CFO review;
FINANCIAL REPORTING
Review of quarterly/HY/ and annual statutory financial statements including Takaful Financials of the Company within agreed reporting schedule timelines for CFO review and transformation thereof inline with IFRS 17; Review of monthly operating results (Budget Comparison) for CFO review, by the 8th of each subsequent month; and onward reporting to parent company, AKFED by 10th of subsequent month as per AKFED timelines; Monitoring and analytical review of actual vs. budget / forecast results, identification of major reasons for variance, for remedial action, where necessary, for CFO review; Review of quarterly AKFED reporting for submission to CFO, and reporting to AKFED; Coordination of internal and external audits;
REGULATORY REPORTING
Review of quarterly and annual regulatory returns
SOLVENCY MANAGEMENT
Supervision and review of monthly and quarterly Solvency 1 Statements and transformation thereof with respect to IFRS 17.
GENERAL
To guide the team members with respect to changes in laws and IFRS, withholding taxes, new line of business, fund, etc.; To provide on the job training to all team members to enhance their professional development; To prepare summary of changes in draft laws, rules and regulations for GH review, as and when applicable; To enhance the focus on automation, towards achieving time and cost efficiency, and accuracy, where deem necessary; Any other task as may be assigned by the Chief Manager / CFO.
