EMEA Firm Tax Associate
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax associate to join the EMEA tax department of a prestigious multi- national bank. The EMEA Tax Department is responsible for Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, Business Unit Tax Advisory, US Tax Reporting and Global Tax Risk with offices in London, Glasgow, Frankfurt and Budapest. Members work closely across the EMEA region and with the NY and Asia offices. Also with wider Finance, Treasury and Legal Departments.

The EMEA Firm Tax team operates in three locations (Glasgow, London and Frankfurt) and oversees Corporate Tax compliance and reporting in 25 jurisdictions across EMEA. The candidate will have preparer responsibility for a portfolio of companies and processes, both within the UK and across the EMEA region, and will contribute to tax return filings, tax payments, tax forecasting, tax bookings and internal and external tax reporting, as well as ad hoc project work.

What will you be doing?
  • Support corporate income tax compliance and reporting processes within UK and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) which includes:
  • Preparation of UK corporate income tax returns
  • Management of non-UK corporate income tax return submissions
  • Calculating tax payments
  • Calculating relevant corporate income tax and deferred tax accounting entries
  • Preparation of tax disclosures in financial statements
  • Calculating quarterly effective tax rates for US GAAP and IFRS reporting, and
  • Assistance with projects as they arise
  • Drive innovation and process efficiency improvements
  • Work collaboratively across the wider tax, finance and other teams to build strong relationships and deal with ad hoc issues and manage risk. #LI-RG1 #LI-Hybrid
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
  • Proficient UK Corporation Tax compliance knowledge and experience
  • Relevant professional accountancy or tax qualification (including ACCA/CIMA/CA or ATT/CTA)
  • UK Corporation tax work experience in Practice (tax or audit) or Industry
  • Work collaboratively in a team, providing assistance and support to others when needed
  • Ability and willingness to work with virtual teams across varying regions towards the achievement of common goals
  • Aptitude for working in a swiftly changing, dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated personality with high standards for quality of work, controls and accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Experience of US GAAP and US tax compliance
  • Experience of tax compliance in other EMEA Tax jurisdictions
