The role
We're currently recruiting for a Business Finance Analyst to join our Special Projects Team to assist in the provision of professional accountancy and/or finance analysis service by executing specific and regular finance processes to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory, reputational and commercial requirements.

The role will focus on supporting the transition of work from the Special Projects Team to BAU, analysing if processes are fit for purpose and reviewing opportunities for harmonisation and streamlining. The role will involve analysing large volumes of data within Microsoft Excel and Access as well as supporting accounting and payment processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake project work to support the development of robust and effective financial reporting.
- Support the on-going delivery of robust, effective and efficient operational finance processes and controls.
- Apply agreed appropriate quality assurance controls to all work produced to ensure the accuracy and validity of the Company's financial information.
- Participate in team discussions on areas such as key activities and deliverables.
- Balancing competing priorities on different pieces of work in challenging timescales.
- Ensuring a continually high quality of output.
- Maintaining up to date professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.
- Will escalate issues that have a high impact to the appropriate manager using the established governance frameworks.

What are we looking for?
Essential
- Strong Excel skills
- Education - Higher Grade
- Languages - English
Desirable
- Experience of Life Insurance industry, particularly Reinsurance or Bulk Purchase Annuities
- Access skills
