BDO has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and talented Senior Manager or Director to take the lead on our Automotive dealership engagements. Join our Melbourne team in an exceptional and purposeful, professional services organisation. Our thriving audit practice works with some of Victoria’s most exciting, established, and emerging companies (private and public).

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 7 years of professional service (auditing) experience
  • Extensive managerial experience
  • CAANZ/CPA qualified or overseas equivalent
  • Significant experience of delivering audit and other assurance services to clients in the retail and distribution sector
  • Excellent working knowledge of Australian and International GAAS, IFRS and Financial Reporting requirements
  • Managing and developing staff (not only audit teams), i.e. coordinating staff projects, mentoring, counselling, appraising, recruiting etc.
  • Business development experience - able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work.
  • Proven experience in managing a wide portfolio of concurrent projects and project teams in a project management framework

Responsibilities:

Include, but not limited to:

  • Managing audit engagements primarily for large automotive dealership groups based across Australia which include initial engagement planning, analysis of controls and processes, preparation and review of audit documentations and management letters and reports and monitoring of engagement progress against budget and timeline
  • Developing and maintaining long-term client relationship and identifying business development opportunities
  • Coaching and developing team members to achieve technical competencies and efficient performance
