Accounting Manager - Quality and Technical Advisory

As our Accounting Manager - Quality & Advisory you will be a key member of our global Accounting Operations team and you’ll be making a real difference to our fast-growing organisation. 

In this role, as Osome's technical accounting SME you will have 3 key areas of focus:
1) Technical Advisory (technical accounting and regulatory-related queries, technical support to sales and onboarding for new clients, etc);
2) Technical Reviews (technical / quality reviews of financials (IFRS/SFRS), key accounting policies and other complex deliverables); and
3) Technical Updates (monitoring the latest accounting, industry and regulatory updates. Issuing technical alerts for internal teams and clients. Delivering technical presentations and other specific training modules for our accounting teams).

You will identify ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness in our Accounting system and processes, supporting the development of new services and new business proposals through expert knowledge of internal procedures and industry practice. Your mission will be to create and maintain an environment that ensures all quality deliverables are met and that the team are focused on identifying ways in which they can improve processes and service delivery globally.

 What you'll do:

• Strong accounting, tax, and consolidation reporting knowledge
• Take control of accounting quality in all offices regarding internal quality SOP and report reviews
• Review and approve quality control reviews on year-end financial reports as well as management reporting to ensure consistency of technical accounting applications
• Analyse and identify quality control gaps and verify that SOP controls are operating effectively and timely
• Provides advice on improving and enhancing quality control standards and practices in all regional offices
• Guide and coach team members as required for technical application of accounting, ensuring all are in accordance with SFRS/IFRS
• Regular monitoring of action plans to address quality and areas of weaknesses.
• Review training presentations monthly to team members on SFRS/IFRS topics they want to learn/refresh
• POC for all accounting products and services, to review pricing with other departments to ensure pricing of our products are all updated and aligned, with the mindset to offer and create new products or services for our clients as they require
• Issues on accounting flagged by the tax department are to be thoroughly investigated and rectified then communicated to the team on consistent application
• Analyse and understand up-and-coming/new industry requirements in order to apply accurate and rightful accounting applications (e.g. crypto assets, cryptocurrencies)

Who you are:

• Candidates should either have a degree in accountancy and at least 5 years of experience in accounting or audit, outsourced service firms an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/SFRS, and holding a CA/CPA is essential
• Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
• A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Confident, independent, and adaptable
• Strong drive to excel professionally, and to guide and motivate others
• Independent in managing own workload, ability to work under pressure and to keep things moving, and to juggle multiple tasks
• Tech-driven mindset: always find ways to improve efficiency and adapt easily to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
