We have an opportunity for a Charity Accounts Assistant to join our supportive Accounting and Business Solutions team in Dundee.  You will provide support to the Partners and Directors in respect of charitable companies, SCIO’s and trust accounts for a wide variety of clients, including c15 trusts where we act as their in-house finance function.

What does the role include?

The role is varied and responsibilities include:

  • Book-keeping on a monthly basis, including bank and investment reconciliations, setting up bank payments, for a number of charitable and family trusts
  • Managing the day-to-day administrative duties including the management and actioning of charity mail, filtering funding applications and enquiries
  • Liaising with banks, investments managers, external auditors and independent examiners where required
  • Collating Trustee papers in advance of Trustee meetings including investment reports, reconciliations and funding applications
  • Preparation of annual financial statements and independent examinations for a wide variety of Charitable organisations
  • Establishing a professional and confident working relationship with clients, dealing with their queries, and escalating these as appropriate, in order to enhance the Firm’s reputation and business opportunities

What we are looking for:

  • Previous accountancy experience or practical experience and sound knowledge of bookkeeping within the charity sector.  
  • Experienced in meeting deadlines in a busy department and must be able to work on your own initiative.   Good IT skills are essential and previous experience in Cloud accounting packages is desirable.  
  • A strong team player who possesses excellent communication and client interfacing skills, numerate with excellent attention to detail
