Senior IT Auditor
Hybrid - Attached to the office in Hook, Hampshire
Full Time, Permanent

£50,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Here at Serco, we are seeking a Senior IT Auditor to support the Head of Audit (HoA) in delivery of the Technology related elements of our audit plan, and the wider Global Internal Audit (GIA) team in delivery of the overall plan. This will include the delivery of specific technology focused audits and assisting in the broader development of Technology audit and Data Analytics within GIA.

You will be involved in the delivery of IT audit work on 'integrated' audits, supporting the wider audit team in providing an independent and objective assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of technology controls, and assisting the HoA in overseeing delivery of core IT audits, which are usually delivered by our co-source partners. This role also includes supporting the HoA in championing and driving the adoption and use of Data Analytics (DA) within GIA and assisting in managing the development and maintenance of GIAs' IT audit universe.

You will also work constructively with management, using your expertise to identify appropriate recommendations, the implementation of which will drive positive incremental changes across all aspects of our operations.

We are looking for an ambitious candidate with a curious mind, who thrives in an environment of change and can contribute more broadly to GIA as we work towards our goal of being 'best practice' for an organisation of our size and complexity.

As part of this you'll:
  • Support the HoA to deliver IT audits, through disciplined and structured audit project management, such as performing walkthroughs and executing ITGC fieldwork testing to a re-performable standard.
  • Help to plan and deliver technology components of integrated audits to support the wider GIA team.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external IT stakeholders.
  • Share IT audit process and approach understanding across GIA.
  • Support the HoA with provision of DA training to the team.
  • Promote a culture that supports innovation and the adoption of DA across GIA activities.
What you'll need to do the role:
  • Thorough knowledge of audit procedures, including risk-based planning techniques and methods used to examine, verify and analyse business and financial operations, information, records, statements and reports.
  • Good knowledge of IT audit techniques, ITGC controls, and use of DA to support the execution of audit procedures and objectives, with at least 2 years relevant technology audit experience within an internal audit or equivalent function, or 5 years 'hands-on' technical experience (e.g. networks, security).
  • Experience with PowerBI or equivalent tools (e.g. advanced Excel) and a track record in using / developing and deploying those tools.
  • Exposure to and a broad understanding of operational and financial systems, processes, risks and controls.
  • Previous use or experience of audit management software administration would be beneficial.
  • Educated to degree level or otherwise suitably qualified, e.g. accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA).
  • IT Audit and/or Internal Audit qualification is desirable (e.g., CISA), although further training is available.
