What is the opportunity?

This role is an opportunity for exposure to cutting edge expected credit loss methodologies! An opportunity to allow you to develop your programming abilities and to influence stakeholders across Risk, Finance & externally.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing model change requests and contributing to the team's credit risk expertise.

In this role, you will:

  • Engage with peers within the team to design technical solutions to required changes in the underlying credit risk calculations for Expected Credit Loss Models.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on IFRS9 ECL modelling and outputs.
  • Complete execution of ECL models on a monthly basis, to auditable standard.
  • Review model outputs and investigate any potential issues or anomalies.
  • Maintain and develop documentation to ensure ECL model documentation is kept up to date

What will make you stand out?

We are looking for someone who is proficient in SAS Programming language or is able to acquire proficiency and who has experience working with datasets from multiple sources.On a more personal level, someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deliver and achieve results within demanding timescales would be an asset.We need someone who can work on their own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role;
  • Proficiency in Python or other coding languages.
  • Experience of Credit Risk Modelling in a financial institution (IRB/IFRS9/Stress Testing/Validation).

Essential Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical skills supported by a third Level qualification in mathematics, statistics or other numerical subject area.

More about the team

The IFRS9 ECL Execution team is responsible for the estimation of expected credit loss (ECL) for financial instruments in line with the accounting standard. The IFRS 9 ECL execution team runs the monthly models which calculate the 12 month and lifetime ECL for all assets, for use in downstream processes and reporting.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
