Job purpose
The VAT Compliance Associate will be responsible for the preparation and submission of VAT returns and any other ancillary returns as required. Support Band 3 colleagues in the provision of a high-quality client service, producing service deliverables for a portfolio of clients, including the preparation of data, and acting as the primary day-to-day contact for the provision of those services, to meet stakeholders’ and client expectations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure the completion and submission of VAT returns, EC Sales List and Intrastat reports, and any other country specific reports
- Ensure that team deadlines are met in accordance with internal/external requirements
- Build a first-rate professional relationship with assigned clients acting as a principal point of contact
- Process client activity information - sales and purchases
- Liaise with TMF offices, sub-contractors and tax authorities on technical issues
- Use specific software programs and maintain company databases as required
Job specific requirements
- Preferably 1 years’ experience in a similar role
- Degree holder in finance, accountancy or business-related disciplines preferable
- Excellent written and communication skills, with strong ability to plan ahead and organise
- Analytical structured mind set with ability to follow and build upon existing processes and ensure data is maintained with accuracy and consistency
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and preferably a second language
- Proficiency in MS Excel MS Word, and MS Outlook is essential
