Job Description
Audit Quality Department
The audit quality department is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of quality initiatives across the practice to both reduce risk and enhance quality. The role will involve collaboration across the business, including the National Audit Technical Services team and the Quality Assurance Department to ensure there are robust support and monitoring frameworks in place.
The audit industry is continually evolving but the consistent theme is the increased focus on audit quality.
About the Job
The successful candidate would mainly work on in-flight audit reviews (pre-issuance of the audit report) to help identify issues and coach audit teams to address the issues and enhance the quality of their audit outputs. There would be further opportunity to work on other quality initiatives as part of the wider audit quality enhancement plan.
Working within a quality role will provide the successful candidate a unique insight into a wide range of industries and teams. This exposure will enable good practices to be identified and key learnings to be shared with the audit teams.
The candidate would be part of a growing team and would be working closely with the director leading the in-flight review function.
Quality is becoming ever more important within the audit market and as such, an ability to articulate how you have contributed to the quality agenda will become ever more important and will contribute to a well-rounded skillset as you progress through your career.
Minimum Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent
- A Manager or strong Assistant Manager
- Strong technical auditing and accounting skills
- A proven quality track record/ experience
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues in a concise and understandable manner
- Strong people management skills and confidence in providing feedback and challenging in a constructive and professional way
- Confidence and a proven track record in project management alongside the adaptability to deal with changes to timelines and plans
- A strong understanding of proportionality and the ability to make sound decisions about the significance of issues
- A challenging and sceptical mindset coupled with a high attention to detail
