Job Description

The Equities business provides a wide range of innovative equities solutions to institutional, investor and issuer clients – from initial public offerings, secondary placements and equity-linked structures to private placements, equity derivatives products, and block and portfolio trading services. The Cash Equities Trading business area covers Cash Single Stock Trading, Program Trading, and Electronic Client Solutions.

The EMEA Cash Equities Business Manager will be providing support to the Cash Equities Trading Group from an end to end perspective.  The role will involve significant exposure to the front office and extensive interaction with senior management as well as across functional areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as trusted advisor and counterweight to Business Head and their management team
  • Implementation of new business strategies, strategic initiatives or platform, including aligning front office and support groups (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, Compliance)
  • Manage business risk and support control environment
  • Work with control functions to manage business risk and support control environment
  • Lead roll out of regulatory rules and compliance policies
  • Analysis of financial performance including expenses; identify productivity initiatives and drive implementation
  • Support of EMEA Cash Equities, as well as broader EMEA Equities Trading with planning, forecasting, quarterly business reviews
  • Partner with cross regional Business Managers and cross LOB  Business managers to ensure consistency and best practices

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Preferred experience in a related Markets business function.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related area
  • Understanding of front-to-back best practices for Equities or other asset class
  • Knowledge in information technology within financial institutions and experience in planning and building efficient systems
  • Knowledge / experience with Equities or other market infrastructure & network management
  • Understanding of legal and compliance requirements for financial institutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated credibility in managing a business or business function
  • Ability to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions
  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask well under pressure
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
  • Presents well to senior business heads
  • Energetic and dynamic in style
