Background:
Driven by the State Street Beacon initiative, functionalization of corporate functions and re-alignment of the Finance operating model, State Street has established Global Accounting Operations (GAO) in 2017. GAO is a process-driven function responsible for all record-to-report (R2R) processes within Controllers including:
- Integrated close and intercompany
- Revenue accounting
- Expense accounting
- Specialized product accounting
- Cash and deposit governance
- Project accounting
- Balance sheet substantiation and system to system reconciliations
- Transfer pricing
- Management allocations
- Financial Systems Support
Majority of GAO capacity (circa 80%) is concentrated in 2 Global and 2 Regional GAO Hubs where activities are organized by process:
- Global GAO Hub in Bangalore, India (captive)
- GAO Production Hub in Coimbatore and Chennai (State Street/HCL JV)
- EMEA Regional GAO Hub in Krakow, Poland (captive)
- APAC Regional GAO Hub in Hangzhou, China (captive)
Key Responsibilities
- Designing automation processes as per the operational needs of an organization
- Scripting and coding in any RPA tool to resolve automation issues
- Reviewing the code and the design and also providing expertise in the development, and integration of systems by understanding business processes and working on developing prototypes
- Configuring new automation with efficient and easily understandable automation tools
- Documenting the automation procedures
- Support change control best practices, including management of multiple code/configuration streams, code/Configuration merging, and promoting changes to production
- Preparing process design documents, technical design documents in Automation space
- Ability to guide the team through entire SDLC cycle and review completed work effectively
- Perform code review, design review and provide direction to and technical expertise in design , development & systems integration
- Provide technical training to team during implementation, and experience in trouble shooting RPA development processes
- Lead the efforts related to Automation, RPA technology and architecture working closely with IT, team
- Ability to understand financial systems architecture, drive efficiencies and develop governance framework
- Accountable for all Technical/Operational aspect of the Oracle ARCS application
- Facilitate with Business Teams and Project teams to drive process controls , improvements to drive seemless functioning of BAU
- Ability to partner with internal and onshore teams and ensure successful delivery of Balance Sheet Substantiation projects/initiatives
- Creation of project plan, BRDs, FSDs, CRP and UAT document for project simulations and testing.
- Assist in the development of of additional controls and identification of preventative measures
- Assisting in Requirements gathering, Gap Analysis and Facilitate testing, record deviations, close gaps and ensure seemless BAU transitions
- Work closely with IT, Vendor and project team to improve the reconciliation process
- Creating procedures and keeping current procedures up to date per BSS Policy
- Meeting SLA requirements and maintaining high Balanced Scorecard ratings
- Escalate any issues to line manager and avoid any unfavourable impact on process delivery.
- Adhere to and complete all requirements of the GAO Control Hub
- Partnering with GPO, FRIBS and Technology to drive process re-engineering, automation and change management
- Continuous process improvement leveraging GAO ideation and issue tracking frameworks
- Partnering with transition management team and donor entities to ensure effective and efficient transition of activities into the Hub
- Implementation support of the GAO process re-engineering and automation (accounting technology roll-out, new entities set up, restructures, converstions)
- Partner with various teams and ensure successful delivery of the projects/initiatives of Balance Sheet Substantiation Team
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- BE / B.Tech/B.Com with IT/Computer science/specializaton
- 6-8 years of post qualification experience
- 2 plus years in RPA tools & deployment
- Experience in Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, Cognos data analytics and visualization (or similar tools)
- Strong understanding of Oracle - Sub Ledger Accounting
- Advanced certification in Developer & Infrastructure certification in Blue Prism is a plus
- Technical experience in System design/Interfaces and data flow into ERP system is a plus
Skills required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio), advance levels of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, excel workbook maintenance best practices)
- Possess good levels of understanding of current technological platforms introduced by Oracle, viz : workday, ARCS, Oracle Cloud platforms, forms/reports , other development tools etc.
- Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Financials
- Knowledge of Spotfire, Tableau, Cognos data analytics and visualization (or similar)
- Conceptual understanding of company-wide financial architecture (GL, sub-GL technology, specialized tools) applicable to the above process groups of processes
- Experience in automation tools such as Blue Prism and UiPath along with UiPath Encoding and Debugging.
- Excellence in C, C++, Java, or .NET
- Experience in scripting languages such as JavaScript, HTML, etc.
- Experience in SQL, PLSQL or NoSQL, R , Python, Power BI
- Basics of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Knowledge of workflow, experience in data migration, system integration of sub systems.
- Project management skills, PMP or any other PM certification is a Plus
- Good logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
