To provide reporting, analysis and support for the Property Capital Finance Manager and the wider Property and FM Commercial Teams. The team will be responsible for c£450m of Capital spend in 23/24 all of which needs tracking and accounted for to ensure the Capital is spent in the right places and on time. The role will report into the Capital Finance manager and will focus on supporting the Capital periodic reporting process including the integration of EV charging into the routine.

What you need to do
  • Take responsibility for the period end processes and reporting for Capital and support in the monthly forecasting process
  • Support the Capital Finance Manager with establishing EV Charging Capital processes, which are not currently in place and will grow as the business evolves
  • Challenge current processes and look for continual ways to improve efficiencies and control
  • Support with the Corporate 5 Year Plan, Budget and any Capital Rationing Exercises required by Group Capital
  • Periodic Analysis of the Feasibility P&L Code to ensure all costs that can be capitalised are moved to relevant CPAR's
  • Support consolidation of reporting from Property & FM finance teams into periodic performance pack, including overall commentary on key focus areas
  • Ownership of the Store Support Consolidation Centre allocations each period.
  • Deal with any adhoc queries/reporting requests from the commercial Property team and be a confident Business Partner
What you need to know and show
  • Demonstrate finance analytical skills
  • Able to produce financial information in a user friendly manner
  • Ability to deal, reconcile and analyse large volumes of data and simplifying the processes involved
  • Core understanding of accounting and reconciliation requirements
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Either qualified or at the advanced stages of study towards CIMA, ACA, ACCA accountancy qualification
  • Experience in a retail business desirable but not essential
