What you will be doing
  • Provide financial support and analysis to the Financial Controller and Project Accounting team to support strategic decision making and risk evaluation.
  • Own the monthly managements accounts process for your suite of programmes; posting journals, completing actual and forecast schedules with supporting commentaries and variance analysis.
  • Perform monthly Balance Sheet reviews, validating and explaining key Balance Sheet movements and closing out key control items as required.
  • Manage the forecasting process for your respective programmes to ensure the submission of timely and accurate revenue, cash and profit forecasts including commentary.
  • Work closely with the Programme, Supply Chain and Pricing teams to support the annual programme budgeting process and support the delivery of cash forecasts as and when required. Manage the monthly Ops and Threat process for your programmes.
  • Conduct monthly review meetings with budget holders, providing support for commercial business issues and contract pricing queries.
  • Be the point of contact for external audit queries; provide timely responses to audit queries as they arise and develop stringent remedial controls where necessary.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Financial Controller and Finance Business Partners as and when required

Bachelor's degree or higher with Gas Turbine engine content. Where the candidate does not hold a degree, relevant experience will be considered.
  • The role requires a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • The candidate should be educated to degree level or above and able to demonstrate an excellent record of academic achievement
  • Strong SAP and Excel experience is essential
  • The successful candidate will be highly customer focussed and be experienced in communicating financial knowledge across all levels within a corporate environment
  • Excellent prioritisation and self-management skills are key, as is the ability to manage and meet a wide variety of internal and external reporting deadlines
  • Experience of working in a business partnering capacity with the ability to challenge the status quo is desirable
