Job Title Finance Analyst (FP&A) Job Description Are you a Finance Analyst looking for your next move to a global FTSE100 company? We are searching for someone to join our team, based from the Newcastle office. This role sits within the UKI Commercial Finance team and involves working alongside our FP&A team and supporting the Financial Controller for the UK & Ireland.

At Sage, the Commercial Finance team is responsible for forecasting, reporting, evaluating and explaining the company's financial performance and for partnering with business leaders to help inform and guide key operational and strategic decisions. The team are central to helping Sage make better decisions, create competitive advantage, and successfully deliver its strategy.
In this role you will manage the functional costs within the UKI, deliver data driven insights to support with forecasting and commercial decision making, support in the delivery of timely, high-quality accounting, reporting and controls, and collaborate across the wider finance function to deliver a broad range of projects.

#LI-RW1 Key Responsibilities Supporting the delivery of best-in-class financial accounting and reporting including month end, statutory accounts, balance sheet maintenance, cash collection performance and support with oversight of the audit process.
• Providing support on the cashflow and balance sheet planning cadence; driving collaboration to improve forecasting accuracy, cost optimisation, and achieve working capital and cash conversion targets.
• Helping deliver a robust internal control environment (UKI Risk Register, IFRS 15 and IFRS 9 controls, UKI lead for the Sage Internal Controls project - e.g., SaaS metrics, etc.).
• Ensuring that the accounting is in line with the Sage GAM, including supporting with reviewing the ongoing appropriateness of revenue recognition across the region and new propositions.
• Working collaboratively with the local Finance business partners and Finance Director through thorough analysis and understanding of our revenue, regional controllable costs, and headcount, to develop data-driven insight and assist in the delivery of targets.
• Driving continuous improvement, standardisation, and automation of processes.
• Knowledge sharing and training across One Sage Finance to ensure best practice

Skills, Know-how and Experience

The ideal candidate will be a commercially focused, Qualified Finance Professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and have experience of working in a similar role. Experience within a SaaS/ software business would be desirable, but a curiosity to learn about the industry is non-negotiable. Alongside this, you'll have a

• Solid understanding of the balance sheet, cash flow, deferred revenue, and IFRS 15.
• Commercially astute, able to link the underlying accounting to impact and the decision-making process
• Ability to combine a confidence to challenge and assert one's own views amongst senior colleagues and peers with an ability to listen, influence, and adapt to the viewpoints and opinions of others
• Passionate and driven, able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision
• Able to tackle complex problems in an environment of ambiguity where not all the desired information may be available
• Experience in providing actionable insights to support commercial decision making and drive business strategy and growth objectives
• Advanced user of excel, with excellent skills in financial modelling and trend analysis
• Ability to think creatively, highly driven, ambitious, and self-motivated
