About the Team

Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security and property.

The Global Financial Control Team protects the Group, and our Customers through automated reconciliations, financial accounting and analytical reporting. We add value to our internal Finance customers through robust and scalable accounting practices, driving efficiency through technology led Innovation.

The Financial Control and Expense Team is responsible for:

  • Expenses (EX) - System processes for Corporate Card and Cash claims via CBA XClaim app or PeopleSoft Financials.
  • Internal Corporate Card program (CC) – Manage the process from application to daily maintenance.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) - Ensures the received payments for goods and services are applied accurately, and records these transactions accordingly. Follow up with business divisions to clear aged invoices or un-applied payments, and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Accounts Payable (AP) - Supports the entire Group through the accurate and timely processing of all administrative and property associated payments related to the Groups expenditure.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Manage the Expenses function to support the Group with all needs relating to employee Corporate Card and Employee Reimbursements, uplift the controls and process improvements.
  • Provide support for all internal credit card applications for the CBA corporate card facility.
  • Support the Group with AP needs.

You will also act as the:

  • Verifying officer; responsible for validating the credit card applicant’s identification
  • Authorisation officer; approving credit card applications in line with internal credit card policy and procedures.
  • CBA Admin team; providing support and training to the business unit Admin team

Key duties will include:

Corporate Card Manager Support

  • Provide support and training to the BU Admin teams.
  • Approve internal credit card applications in line with internal credit card policy and procedures.
  • Validate internal credit card applicant’s identifications

Operational Support

  • Provide support and training to the BU for all EX and AP needs

Financial Controls

  • Ensure the control balance sheet accounts for the sub-ledger systems such as AP and Expenses are accurately substantiated and comply with the Group’s Reconciliation policy

  • Experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • Experience in implementing robust processes and controls
  • Experience in a customer service and/or administrative role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great problem solving skills and attention to details

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle and analyse large volumes of data
