Role Overview

This is a management role reporting into the EMEA Regional Payroll Manager. The jobholder is responsible for ensuring the effective production of payroll across the UK Cluster.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the monthly payroll operation meets/exceeds the published service standards and is within the agreed timetable
  • Responsible to work with all relevant HRSS pillars and groups on reengineering, migration, automation of payroll activities
  • Perform the required reasonableness checks to the current monthly payroll accounting balances
  • Undertake full responsibility for the complete Payroll function
  • Work with internal Risk and Control teams to review and undertake internal audit controls, identifying improvements of controls
  • Hold meetings with direct reports to disseminate information
  • Provide effective communication to the EMEA Regional Total rewards Manager and escalate relevant issues promptly
  • Ensure that all of Payroll team members understand and comply with all key policies and procedures
  • Train the team to ensure there are suitable deputies in place to handle times of sickness and holiday
  • Arrange for the continuous development of the Payroll by organising the required training, coaching and team building
Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor's/University degree
  • Substantial HR ops experience including expatriates, and benefits
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • In depth knowledge of best practice payroll methodology
  • Detailed knowledge of employee / employer tax legislation
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound financial management skills
