Join us as a Governance & Assurance Manager
  • With your existing expertise, you'll make sure that our business complies with data management policy and that related functions are consistent and aligned to our data strategy
  • We'll look to you to work across the business to make sure data related risks are identified and solutions managed
  • This role offers excellent long-term development possibilities as you join a collaborative and highly skilled team
What you'll do

As a Governance & Assurance Manager, you'll develop, embed, and refine data governance frameworks and working practices for the business. You'll be making sure guidance material is readily available, meets requirements and is sufficient to enable leadership teams and their colleagues to identify and escalate data issues. With your expertise, you'll also be seen as the first point of contact for senior leadership on data governance and policy.

Throughout the course of your work, you'll:
  • Identify, understand and challenge business areas regarding their data management issues to make sure both the problem and proposed solution have been correctly identified
  • Make sure all action remains within the boundaries of data protection, data policy and related regulation
  • Provide regular, up to date, accurate reports to Wealth and Bank-wide governance and risk management forums showing the compliance status of the business
  • Own and drive the data quality and policy adherence roadmap
  • Manage training and communication to end users, interfacing with delivery teams to ensure accurate and fit for purpose outcomes
  • Define and maintain matrix resource plans, negotiating supply and balancing demand to maximise business value
The skills you'll need

We're looking for a capable communicator, who has experience in delivering risk and issue assessment and control application principles in a financial environment. You'll need a broad knowledge of data management principles, coupled with the ability to see the bigger picture, understand where activities are inter-related and make sure dependencies are clear and appropriately managed.

You'll also need:
  • Experience in developing improvement initiatives to meet long term goals
  • Experience in driving and managing regulatory change in a financial services environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Avaloq banking platform, ideally applied in the data management domain
  • The ability to leverage best practice and apply appropriately to our data governance framework
  • The ability to convey complex subjects in a simple and accessible way to senior and generalist audiences
  • Good complex decision-making abilities, using a broad range of factors to develop solutions
  • Experience of building support and engagement for solutions by sharing information and taking an active role in cross-functional activities
