We are partnering with a leading international business in Hook as they seek to recruit a fully qualified Financial Accountant with some knowledge of IFRS16 lease accounting to join their Finance Transformation team, focusing on their growing portfolio of property leases.

Description

Reporting to and working closely with the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will hold responsibility for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all lease accounting for a growing portfolio of leases and for ensuring the controlled operation of processes to meet this requirement. The role has a heavy focus on controls, processes and accounting, working closely with the Financial Controller to provide dedicated expertise on accounting for leases.

Day to day focus will be on:

- Executing accounting processes including period-end relating to Lease Accounting (IFRS16)
- Ensure accounting records maintained in compliance with company policy and accounting
standards
- Performing reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and clearance of reconciling items
- Developing an in-depth understanding of the operation and capabilities of the current lease
accounting management application
- Assisting with writing accounting papers relating to leases as required
- Producing agreed monthly reporting and make recommendations for improvements
- Complete ad-hoc analysis for the business area as required
- Support & engage with other areas of the business and external stakeholders on lease
accounting queries
- Continuously improving accounting processes and controls
- Building and cultivating relationships with other teams to provide a valuable network of
contacts to assist query resolutions

Profile

Candidates will require:

▪ Knowledge of / experience in accounting for leases with IFRS16
▪ Professional qualification with a recognised accounting body
▪ Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external
stakeholders.
▪ Evidence of building trust with a team
▪ Clear communicator capable of describing simply complex financial concepts
▪ Experience of having worked successfully in a virtual team
▪ Demonstrates diligence and integrity
▪ Adaptable, energetic and a continuous learner
