Financial Reporting SME (AVP)

Citi has an extensive presence across EMEA, in 55 countries. Each Citi entity and country presence is subject to regulatory oversight by Central Banks and other financial regulatory bodies. The EMEA Local Regulatory Reporting team aims to deliver timely and accurate statistical, financial, and prudential information to all of Citi’s Regulators.

In line with Citi’s strategy to centralize, standardize and strengthen its processes, a large portion of EMEA reporting tasks is now placed in Citi’s Budapest CSC (Citi Solution Center), where 300+ professionals support the production of local regulatory returns for over 45 regulators.

The Financial Reporting SME will be responsible for the coordination of junior colleagues as well as to support the team in Regulation changes, automation initiatives, control simplification and supporting of BAU tasks as a Subject Matter Expert.

In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely production of regulatory and managements reports
  • Act as expert for policies and control applicable to regulatory and management reporting. Maintenance and further development of key controls including but not limited to reconciliations, variance analysis and mapping reviews;
  • Check and ensure that procedures and policies are applied to adequately cover rules and regulations;
  • Ongoing review and development of current processes to increase efficiency;
  • Active involvement in a variety of automation efforts and system implementations supporting report production
  • Provide support to in-country Finance teams on an ad-hoc basis (e.g. audits, regulatory inquiries)
  • Exploit a collaborative and motivating attitude to join forces with colleagues for excellent results

The ideal candidate for this position preferably possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in a banking accounting / financial reporting / controlling
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting instructions (such as Basel) is an advantage
  • Prior experience in migration and process improvement projects is also an advantage
  • Have strong project management skills inclusive of sound time management, attention to details, effective communication with stakeholders, critical thinking and problem solving
  • Prior experience in a statistical and/or regulatory reporting role would be an advantage
  • Advanced MS Excel and Access knowledge
  • Advanced / Fluent English knowledge
  • Additional EMEA language knowledge is an advantage
  • Great attention to details and independent, pro-active working style
  • IFRS experience is an advantage;
  • ACCA, CIA or similar qualifications to be considered an advantageWe are a development-focused organization.
