Description

The Fixed Income Division (“FID”) Business Unit Risk Management (“BURM”) team is looking for a Vice President level candidate to support the roll out of FX business for India along with other risk management functions. Risk management themes will include; Operational Risk, Conduct Risk, Regulatory Risk, Technology Risk, Client Risk, etc. BURM is considered the ‘First Line of Defense’ and the role therefore requires close collaboration with stakeholders of varying seniority across a wide range of teams in the Front Office and infrastructure groups.

The team member will support core activities including but not limited to; oversee and drive the FX business roll-out, ad-hoc transaction reviews, coordinating new business initiatives, reviewing operational risk incidents, assessing client governance issues and coordinating regulatory projects that impact the division.

Daily or regular tasks related to the risk management function include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a smooth and speedy roll-out of the FX business for India FID.
  • Ensuring a standardized and consistent approach for the Division to adhere to risk management policies and procedures
  • Helping to assess and coordinate new business initiatives for the division
  • Assessing ad-hoc transaction approvals for complex trades
  • Managing operational risk incidents, general operational queries/issues, and specific programs such as the RCSA
  • Reviewing new client requests/opportunities
  • Managing the Business Continuity Strategy for the Business
  • Monitoring various first line risk management reports & controls
  • Helping to manage regulatory changes that impact the division (e.g. Variation Margining, FX reporting etc.)
  • Supporting regulatory enquiries/inspections, internal audits and compliance testing that impact the division

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • Technical FID product knowledge (India FX knowledge will be considered favorably)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in global banks or financial institutions
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgment calls
  • Be able to find balance between commerciality and prudent risk management
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders of varying seniority in different groups
  • Highly self-motivated, with a desire to help improve processes and work together in a team
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferable Skills:

  • Hold a professional qualification such as CFA, FRM or PRM
  • Familiarity with some programming language
