Assurance Manager

We are a team of test, software and platform specialists that deploy and assure platforms and systems ranging from large scale processing systems and applications to smaller, more bespoke applications. Using different operating systems, you will be expected to leverage automation to test at pace and scale and automate software deployments where possible. You'll also be deeply involved in the full engineering and test life cycle, including working directly with customers to understand and capture requirements/user stories, through to integration, acceptance and customer sign

What you'll do as an Assurance Manager:
  • Lead test and assurance teams by providing test management to ensure on time and high-quality delivery.
  • Provide the technical direction and management for the testing and assurance of world class secure platforms, on large complex test programmes.
  • Work directly with customers to understand and capture requirements/user stories, through to integration, acceptance, and customer sign-off, ensuring delivered solutions align to customer expectations.
  • Manage automated testing solutions and provide ongoing support to team members
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to more junior team members.
You'll have:
  • In depth knowledge of software methodologies including Waterfall/V model, Agile, Lean, DevOps
  • Proven and demonstrable experience of producing high quality Test Documentation, Test Reports and Management Information
  • Proven and demonstrable experience of driving test efficiency and effectiveness using solid testing principles
  • Qualified to degree level or with significant experience of technical delivery
  • Experience in internal and external stakeholder management and engagement (Preferred)
  • Strong configuration managed approach to code management and use within continuous integration workflows, utilising tools such as git or subversion as a core piece of this (Preferred)
  • An in-depth working knowledge of the full SDLC and Systems Engineering practices from requirements/user story capture and decomposition through to integration, acceptance, traceability, and customer sign off and associated toolsets.
  • Experience testing of infrastructure, networks, and applications through the use of test frameworks and evaluating features in order to manage the creation of complex tests.
  • Proven and demonstrable experience of Test management, Test Planning & Design including some or all:
  • Phases of the software test lifecycle such as FAT, SAT, UAT, Integration
  • Different test techniques such as black box, white box, soak, performance
  • TDD/BDD, Dev-Ops, Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)
    • Evidence of testing on multiple platforms such as Linux and Windows and within different languages - Python, XML, VB, Java, C#, .Net, HTML, AngularJS, JSON, C++, SQL/MySQL/NoSQL, Mongo
    • API, Stub and Harness Testing
    • Some understanding of network fundamentals, TCP/UDP and key application layer protocols such as TLS, HTTP etc.
    It is essential that the you have:
    • Up-to date and proven hands-on experience of HP ALM, Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence) or similar, specifically for Test Management.
    • Ability to creatively apply a wide range of technical and/management principles.
    • Performed highly complex work activities covering technical, financial, and quality aspects.
    You might even:
    • Have knowledge of Security solutions or delivered a security project
    • Have Security Clearance at DV level or be prepared to go through the process
    Additionally:
    • The nature of our work means you willbe expected to obtain and maintain a DV clearance, so if you don't currently have one, we will need to undertake pre security checks before starting the role with us.

An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.
