As a Finance Operations team you will manage and ensure strict controls of all transactions and processes relating to Retail Banking, Stock and Online Payment Operations, to drive and implement new initiatives and ways of working within the Finance Operations team. In this role you will also beaccountable for managing strategic third party relationships to ensure contracted services meet the businesses changing requirements.
We are looking for a strong operational manager ideally within a retail field based operation and with aproject management background. It is a busy, challenging role managing multiple priorities and multiple stakeholders therefore you'll need to be used to working in a fast paced environment, have solid management experience and excellent communicationskills.
About the role:
Operational Responsibilities:
- Management and control of the integrity of the Retail Stock file, minimising cash risks throughout all of our operations
- Control of cash Payment incidents, failed refund processing, PSP funding & account management for all Online tenders across UK & International websites.
- Coordination and management of key Retail seasonal events including: Retail Stocktakes, End of Season sale
- Managing and maintaining store Policy & Procedure Manuals including monitoring both operational and regulatory compliance as well as MI reporting
- Responsible for Management Information requests from the business e.g. trade actions, cost focus initiatives
- Proactively manage communication of information cross functionally and upwardly, partake in influencing decision making within the wider business
- Actively represent the department in task forces/ forums within the wider Finance department, positively influence new initiatives and improvements
- Overseeing and critically appraising the production of departmental MI to ensure key areas are controlled with discrepancies addressed and resolved in a timely manner
- Conducting store/ Partner visits to validate the effectiveness of Banking , Stock procedures and controls, identifying areas of improvement
- Monitoring store openings and closings, ensuring that all relevant systems and procedures are updated to reflect these changes
- Management of Finance Operations 3rd party relationships and contracts ensuring excellent service levels at all times
Team Management:
- Leading, coaching and developing the Supervisors & business partners to consistently deliver the highest standards of service required by the business, to ensure the team is well organised and structured to support changing business needs
- Ensuring staff are fully trained in their roles, identifying opportunities to improve their skills and effectiveness
- Developing technical and behavioural skills, promoting a learning culture
About you:
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (esp. MS Excel) suite of products
- Confidence in challenging systems processes
- Previous experience in retailing with ideally background in field-based retail operations
- Proven experience of managing and motivating a team
- Experience in coaching, influencing and developing people
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal coupled with the ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the business
- Effective decision making coupled with the ability to make well informed timely decisions
- Exceptional customer relationship skills
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think outside the box
- Experiencing of negotiating and managing supplier contracts
